Convicted ex-FSB officer Trepashkin goes on hunger strike
MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Former FSB officer Mikhail Trepashkin, who is serving a four-year prison term for disclosing state secrets, has gone on a hunger strike.
"Following today's ruling by the Sverdlovsk Regional Court, Trepashkin has resorted to an extreme step and declared a hunger strike. He has done this in protest against everything that is being done in relation to him," Trepashkin's lawyer Yelena Liptser told Interfax on Wednesday evening.
Trepashkin is feeling bad, and the hunger strike might endanger his life, Liptser said.
The Sverdlovsk Regional Court recently upheld a ruling by a lower court denying Trepashkin parole.
