'Jealous, sex-starved' racing pigeon rushes home to partner A racing pigeon owner says his bird broke a speed record because he'd starved it of sex and made it jealous. John Hanson, from Keighley, West Yorkshire, banned Hanson's Pride from mating with partner Snowy. The Sun says the bird also spent a week in a cage while Snowy mated with another hen. Mr Hanson then took the bird to Bergerac, south-west France. The pigeon took just 14 hours and 16 minutes to complete the 632-mile journey home. It smashed the record by a day. Mr Hanson said: "Pigeons like how's your father just like we do. I had to wind her up for the big race so I tried jealousy."
